Something a collaborator told me once as we were developing a show when I was struggling to make our vision come to life was "Champagne dreams on a lemonade budget", which isn't the most transformative piece of advice, but definitely changed my approach to design and the way I navigate my work and the people I surround myself by.
As an interdisciplinary creative with a love for education, I always try to develop work along people who truly are there for each other and help uplift those around them, regardless of their professional background and experience. We all started with just the spark of inspiration that then blossomed into the working professionals we are today, and if someone hadn't helped us along the way to foster and care for that spark, then were would most of us be? That is the beauty of theater in all it's form, and I strive to keep it that way with everyone who crosses my path.
